How to Play Rest

Rest is an improv concept where performers purposefully avoid the focus of the scene, a game, pattern, or running ideas.

Resting allows for the tension in the scene to build as the audience wonders if the earlier ideas will return.

In game-based improv, the term may be referred to as resting the game
